Founded in 2016 by Mr. Mithat Sucouglu (Turkey) and Mr. Lars Vestbjerg (Ukraine). As a humanitarian organization, peace is the cornerstone of our missions. We believe that if Rotarians work on Peace-building efforts in their communities, it will result in an immediate global impact.
We ask ourselves how we can achieve the greatest possible impact for the future and what we can do to meet our vision statement.
Our commitment to peace-building is the answer to these challenges of realizing our vision of lasting peaceful change.
In this context, ICC plays a decisive role in building bridges to promote international understanding and helping Rotarians create a climate of Friendship with clubs and districts from different cultures. ICC’s create an environment in which peace is possible.
On 16 December 2016 Rotarians signed the “Inter-Country Committee Turkey and Ukraine” agreement to develop strong and long-term relationship in Rotary by combining clubs together from each country. 2 different culture, 2 different religions and 2 different language meets in respect to form culture exchange and explore the treasure of each country, developing strong friendship and help with service in our countries. It all started with an email and became a strong friendship with common goals to make the world a better place for people in needs!
On 16 December 2016 was an historical day in Rotary where Governors from 4 Rotary districts meet with Past Presidents of Rotary clubs to sign the important agreement to establish the Inter-Country Committee Turkey-Ukraine. Since that day of signing, Turkey and Ukraine have developed many Twin-Clubs connecting clubs in each country.
